Hello Friends!!
We have arrived safely in Grahamstown after a 24+ hour journey! We all met at Goucher at 11:30 and began our trip via SuperShuttle. We arrived at Dulles and made it through security quickly. Although delayed by two hours, our first flight (7-8 hrs) to Dakar went well, besides the turbulence. From there we took an 8 hour flight to Johannasburg where we went through customs and made our connection to Port Elizabeth. Miss Christine met us at the airport and we all made the hour and a half journey to her house in Grahamstown. We got there at midnight but were still met with incredible warmth and hospitality. At Miss Christine's we ate a delicious dinner cooked by Tuki and said our goodnights; those of us not living with Miss Christine went on to meet our host families.
Grahamstown is beautiful. We met at 10 this morning and are now all drinking coffee and waiting for breakfast at Cafe Delizzia in town. After this, we are off to go school supply shopping for our classes!
I think we are all excited to be here and I personally am so humbled by this opportunity. More updates coming soon!!!
-Julie
