Starting Class

Objective:
Students and teachers will introduce themselves to each other.
Students will creatively express their individuality.
Students will take a pre-assessment for math and language arts.
This will allow teachers to gauge where each student is, assess outliers and averages.

Matierals:
construction paper
markers/colored pencils
student folders with Maths Unit
-1-Digit Addition Worksheet
-Advanced Addition Worksheet
-Subtraction worksheet
-multiplication worksheet
Production Test (English)
Vocabulary Recognition Test
Pencils
Rubbers

Activities:
-Introductions. Explain objective for next three weeks.
-Have every student make a name tag and decorate.
-Have students draw a picture on the inside of themselves doing something they want to do in the future. Provide example.
-Go around the room and share name and picture.
-Maths Pre-Assessment Worksheets
-Production (sentence writing) Pre-Assessment
-Vocabulary Recognition Pre-Assessment
-End the day making improvizational music using claps, stomps, voices, beatboxing, etc.
